Prohousing Designation Program

The County of San Bernardino is excited to announce its intent to pursue a Prohousing Designation from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The Prohousing Designation Program is a state program implemented in 2021 that supports jurisdictions that go above-and-beyond state housing law to help accelerate housing production. Achieving a Prohousing Designation will help the County qualify for housing-related grants.

The application is now available for public review and comment.
Prohousing Designation Application

The public is invited to review the application and submit feedback to the Land Use Services Planning Division. Comments and questions can be sent to Vivian Nguyen, Planner at Vivian.Nguyen@lus.sbcounty.gov.

The review period will close on March 1, 2026. At that time, County staff will address comments received, as appropriate, and submit the final application to HCD for its official review.
